Valentine’s Day, from Verona with love
I grew up in Verona, a city known as the city of love.
Its romance comes from Shakespeare and the story of Romeo and Juliet, imagined to live right in the heart of the city.
Every February, Verona fills with hearts, love letters and couples from all over the world. People gather beneath Juliet’s balcony, leave messages on the walls and touch her statue for good luck in love. It is romantic, a little theatrical, and very beautiful.
And of course, the famous words:
«O Romeo, Romeo! Perché sei tu Romeo?»
But in Italy, Valentine’s is usually much simpler than Shakespeare. Good food. Good wine. Time together.

Start with Prosecco
Prosecco is how I like to begin an evening.
Light, joyful and perfect while cooking or talking. Pour a glass, slow down, let the night start gently.
A simple pasta that feels special
Our Sugo al Basilico is one of those sauces I always keep at home. Sweet Italian tomatoes and
fresh basil, ready in minutes and full of flavour.
Finish with Parmigiano, good olive oil and bread for the sauce. Simple, comforting and very romantic in its own way.

Something sweet and a smile
After dinner, bring something sweet to the table, Panforte, almond biscuits, chocolate to share slowly.
And do not forget the card. We chose a small collection of silly greeting cards because Valentine’s should make you smile, not feel serious.
