Small Italian Salame, Big Italian Character

Small Italian Salame, Big Italian Character

Small Italian Salame, Big Italian Character

Salamino is one of those quiet Italian essentials. A small cured pork salame found in kitchens, markets and pockets across the country. Compact, flavour forward and often seasoned with fennel seed or a touch of chilli. Kept close and cut as needed during long hours in the fields, the salamino became known, quite simply, as the "pocket salami."

Chewy, dense and deeply satisfying, salamino fit naturally into everyday life. Into lunch boxes, train journeys and those small in between moments when you want something honest and good.

From Siena, with Craft

Our salamini collection comes from Salcis in Siena, a Tuscan butcher founded in 1941. Their approach is simple and exacting. Chosen pork from accredited local farms, traditional methods and time that is never rushed. Five varieties, each shaped by its seasoning, from fennel to chilli to red wine.

How to Pair Salamini

Salamini pair well with bold cheeses and generous Italian reds such as Valpolicella Ripasso. They sit comfortably beside savoury Italian snacks like friabili taralli al finocchio, the crunchy olive oil classic from Puglia.

For an antipasto board, keep it focused. Add olives, artichoke hearts and a selection of Italian salumi. Let each ingredient speak for itself.
